Standard 6: Taking Responsibility to be the Best Teacher You Can Be and Advancing the Field of Dance Arts Education
Accomplished teachers take responsibility for continuing education and professional development, and they collaborate with colleagues at local, state and national levels to advance the field of dance arts education.
This email shows confirmation of my membership in the Dance Educators Coalition of Minnesota, a state organization that provides networking, professional development, and other support to dance teachers, especially those in K-12 settings. I joined this organization in anticipation of my future move to Minnesota so that I can begin making connections and getting acquainted with the area as soon as possible, and will be able to jump right in to sharing expertise and learning from others.
This certificate proves my successful completion of a multi-day workshop on Laban Movement Analysis through the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies. This demonstrates how I am active in seeking my own professional development and continued education to expand my knowledge and skills.
